Material Selections

The material selections in this model and choice of setting mimic my personality in that I am generally very positive and sometimes quirky. The scene setting emphasises this further.

Week 8 - Fusion 360 (Rendering Initials)

Material Selection #1

The material selection for the appearance of this model includes "water - wavy sea", "acrylic (clear)" and "granite - blue pearl". The scene setting chosen was "soft light".

Although not strictly an aspect of my personality or interests, my favourite place is anywhere where I can see the sea. The material selection was chosen to represent the physical aspect of the ocean, particularly its contrasting transparent water with the solid, dark and mysterious depths. Reflective and transparent materials were chosen to represent the reflective nature of water, whilst granite for the rocks of the ocean floor.

Material Selection #2 - Interests

The material selection for the appearance of this model includes "stainless steel hexagonal mesh", "surface glossy bumpy", "3D pine - unfinished", "glass clouds" and "paper (white)". The scene setting chosen was "crossroads".

My interests include playing team sports as represented by the blue hexagonal mesh. The blue is from the colours of my club soccer team. I also enjoy listening to music as illustrated by the red glossy surface, mimicking the red of the youtube symbol. Art is represented through the use of pine wood to resemble the woodboards used for painting. I also like reading and nature which were represented by the paper and clouds respectively.

Material Selection #3 - Personality

The material selection for the appearance of this model includes "glass - frosted medium" and "mirror". The scene setting chosen was "skylight".

I don't know my personality very well, but I do know that I am always confused, as a result the frosted glass in a light grey colour was chosen, as it is very ambiguous. Also I am a very see-through person, as a result the combination of glass and mirror allows for reflection of the outside straight into the inside. Furthermore, since personality is a reflection of self, the material mirror was used to reflect this.

Week 7 - Fusion 360 (Initials)

Note: My initials are Z, H and K

Initially, the height and width remained consistent for all the letters:

Then, to make the shape more interesting, corners were rounded and the height and width of individual letters was adjusted.
